The 28 U.S. women’s national team players who sued U.S. Soccer for pay discrimination in 2019 have reached a proposed settlement with the federation on Tuesday morning. As a result of the settlement, pay for the men’s and women’s national teams will be equalized by the federation moving forward. Players will receive $22 million + $2 million going into a fund for "post-career goals and charitable efforts." The settlement is contingent on the ratification of a new contract between U.S. Soccer and the players’ union for the women’s team.
