Seattle is doing it right. Yet another double header in the books for the Emerald City. Sounders 1-1 LAFC, OL Reign 1-0 Angel City FC. Advantage Seattle. Lumen Field continues to be the home to some of the best soccer in the North American landscape, and these double headers are the perfect way to put it all on display. Six years ago, double headers were a mere topic of discourse on reddit forums, with proposals of MLS/NWSL games seeming to be nothing more than a fantasy. Although such games had been played in the past, it wasn’t until recently that they’ve become more prominent. Saturday night’s game marked the second double header for the Reign/Sounders this season, and it will not be the last one. Reign fans were able to greet their new signing, Jordyn Huitema, this past weekend, and they’ll get a chance to see her play at the next and final double header of the season on August 14th when the Reign play Gotham.
