Eduard Atuesta pulled LAFC ahead 1-0 on the score with a gorgeous 25-yard free kick in the 17', but Seattle mounted a rousing comeback to frustrate the home side's hope of culminating their record-breaking season with an MLS Cup Championship. Raul Ruidiaz and Nicolas Lodeiro scored a pair of goals in the 22' and 26' that rocked the home side. LAFC were never able to get back into the game mentally, and it seemed as if ghosts from last year's early playoff exit haunted Bob Bradley's squad. In the second half, Ruidiaz found a second goal for himself to put Seattle up comfortably 3-1 in the 64'.
