Nashville SC made their MLS debut on Saturday night against Atlanta United. Nearly 60k fans packed Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, to witness the historic occasion. Unfortunately for Nashville and their fans, the match ended in a 1-2 defeat. Atlanta United’s experience and firepower at front were too much to handle for the budding Nashville squad. A fantastic team move finished off by Ezequiel Barco opened the score for Atlanta in the 9th minute of play. Twenty minutes later, Nashville SC found an equalizer through Walker Zimmerman. The deadlock would be broken in the 37th minute by Emerson Hyndman, who pulled Atlanta ahead with a sensational volley. Despite the loss, Nashville SC has a lot to look forward to, especially considering the immense support they received from their fans in their opening match.
