The NYRB kicked off their season with a 3-2 win at home against FC Cincinnati. Kyle Duncan and Kaku put the Red Bulls up 2-0 in a dominant first half performance. In the second half, however, FC Cincinnati were able to put pressure on the home side after pulling one goal back in the 46’. Daniel Royer restored the two goal cushion in the 70’ after culminating a well-worked counter attack with a sweet finish. In the 83’, Jurgen Locadia took advantage of an inadvertent deflection that left him 1 on 1 with the keeper. Locadia’s shot was saved, initially, but he managed to slot in the rebound to make the game 3-2.
