Archives | Following their Women's World Cup victory in 2019, the uswnt embarked on a summer-long Victory Tour across the United States. In August, the USWNT stopped at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to square off against Portugal, and the fans welcomed the World Cup winners in style. Nearly 50,000 fans packed the stands on that warm, summer day, setting a friendly match attendance record in the process. On the field, the USWNT swiftly defeated Portugal by a score of 4-0, with goals coming from Tobin Heath, Morgan Brian, Carli Lloyd and Allie Long. The scores during the Victory Tour were of little importance, though, as fans showed up to enjoy the World Cup triumph and share the moment with their idols. This magical 'moment' that the USWNT captured during the summer of 2019 is far from over, and it seems as if the golden age of women's soccer in the U.S. is only just beginning. 📸: colleenclaggett
