Archives | Marco Fabian's arrival to Philly in 2019 was welcomed as a fantastic move that would boost the Union to finish near the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Fabian’s European trajectory and experience with the Mexican National Team made him an exciting signing overall, and he was expected to take the reins of the team. Looking back, Fabian’s spell at the Union was a mixed bag. Fabian played 25 games for the Union in MLS (including playoffs), starting 15 of those. The Union were indeed able to finish near the top of the Eastern Conference table, clinching third place, but Fabian was not particularly responsible for the Union’s strong season. Fabian’s most memorable moment came in the playoffs when he came off the bench against RBNY and fired the Union to the Conference Semifinal for the first time since 2011. Although no Philly fan will ever forget that pulsating playoff match, Fabian had a pretty underwhelming season for the Union, and it’s a shame he never fully clicked...
