With the California Clasico taking place this weekend, we thought we’d take a look back at this historic rivalry with some shots from all the way back in 2002. First, it takes me back to my childhood in Southern California. My first love for the sport was with those guys on the bus on our way to watch the likes of Cobi Jones, Kevin Hartman, and Mauricio Cienfuegos play at The Home Depot Center. Our brazilian coach, a working professional who coached us on the side, instilled the global football culture in us from a young age. He hand picked us as 8-10 years olds from the local rec league and formed the team you see on the bus.
