NWSL is back. The houstondash hosted the opening game of the 2021 Challenge Cup against Chicago Red Stars in a rematch of last year’s final. While the Dash hoped to start their title defense with three points, they were unable to get an edge throughout ninety minutes. In the second half, Veronica Latsko found the back of the net for the Dash, but she was ruled offside and the goal was disallowed. After a long offseason, it’s not surprising to see some rust during these first few matches of the Challenge Cup, but it’s great to have one of the highlights of 2020 return again this year.
