Saturday night was a party at Banc of California Stadium. A great fan turnout helped propel lafc to a tight 2-1 victory over realsaltlake and string their third win in a row. Diego Rossi helped pull the home side ahead early in the first half, but Aaron Herrera leveled the game for RSL shortly after. The scoreline would not move until late in the second half when Carlos Vela smashed a sensational goal past David Ochoa. The RSL goalkeeper had a fantastic showing, even going as far as stopping a Carlos Vela penalty while the game was tied. Despite missing his penalty, Vela ended up being the hero of the night following his tremendous game-winner in the 79'.
