Smile. It’s not everyday you get to witness two teams play their first official game in club history, especially when they’re playing against each other. Angel City FC 1-1 San Diego Wave. Seventeen shots each, one ball in the back of the net per team, and possession nearly split at half, it was almost poetic how even this game was. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. March 19 had been marked in many of our calendars since the fixture was announced, and the game did not disappoint. Two strong sides, with all to play for in a night that was in the history books long before kick off. With the likes of Jasmyne Spencer, Cari Roccaro, and Christen Press in the starting lineup, the Angel City team is looking strong to continue their Challenge Cup campaign in the coming days. As for the wave, the tie will come as a positive in an away match where points are always crucial, regardless of the number. Truly a magical night in Fullerton for both sides.
