Did you know that this week marked 50 years since Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote to acting president Richard Schlatter, advising that recent federal court action “renders Rutgers College vulnerable” to legal intervention if it fails to admit women? Anticipating a lawsuit to force coeducation at Rutgers College, dean Richard P. McCormick and Phyllis Boring looked to Ruth Bader Ginsburg for assistance.
