For #WomensHistoryMonth, we have had conversations with many women of the Rutgers community about the legacy they are currently building. Meet Sophia Mirrione, founding member and social media chair of the RU Women’s Pre-Law Society. "'Never forget your roots' were my aunt’s words to me in a message before high school graduation, and I hold them in my heart. My grandparents immigrated to the United States in the 70s from Egypt, hoping to provide opportunities for my mom and her sister. Their fearlessness in the face of adversity has been something I have carried throughout my life. I have grown up understanding what it means to be a middle eastern in today’s society. I’ll soon enter a largely white and male-dominated field in law where I will work hard to break through the glass ceiling and inspire others to do the same.
