"As an artist of color, I recognize & understand the adversities BIPOC artists face. Especially as a Latina artist, community & representation is of the utmost necessity. I am passionate about representation in the media & displaying cultures from all around the world.
As most of my coursework revolves around cultural equity, I am asserting my identity in many of my works like my print project, “Orgullosa”, in which I give insight on my experience being a Mexican-American. I am ardent to bring cultural diversity to Mason Gross School of the Arts. I see that I inspire my classmates & although we all come from different diverse backgrounds, we still have commonalities through many different lenses.
