Notice in this video, the front side cue: extended & relaxed glove arm. After watching hours of videos and highlights and even some college years, one thing comes to mind. Walker had trouble over rotating or being ‘too strong’ or even pulling their body to the glove side causing inconsistency. It’s almost like his upper body is moving too fast too early. The glove side extension also allows for our lower half to initiate rotation and tag the arm along for the ride. Guys will extend that glove side to build up as much power and energy to allow the hips to explode as efficient and strong as they can. They still get to the point where the front side gets to a strong point but not until foot strike. I found this cue interesting and also extremely helpful. In training sessions with guys who over rotate or pull, we’ll over exaggerate the weak front side. This has the potential to be a huge improvement mechanically for a lot of guys.
