Some of the biggest things we forget to focus on is extension. Too many times I see pitchers stay too upright as they release the ball. It’s almost like they “lean back” post release, missing on the needed extension and proper deceleration. Jack is a great example of extension and athleticism. We often hear, “Create a flat back” when we release the ball. I would say that’s a good visual to identifying in our mechanics BUT there are a lot of variables involved: ✅ Hip Mobility ✅ Hamstring Flexibility/Strength ✅ Knee Stability/Mobility ✅ Spinal Movements This is why you often hear personal trainers and S&C mention the strengthening of the posterior chain which includes all of those things within the posterior chain. Another aspect comes down to intent and understanding the energy we create from the ground up and how to transition it into the ball.
