In our latest installment of Masked and Answered, HOD major and student body president Veer Shah reflects on the impact of the pandemic on the Vanderbilt community and his own life as a student:
"We can all agree that what makes Vanderbilt what it is are the people. When classes, activities and any social interactions are all on Zoom, it is hard to remember what going to Vanderbilt actually feels like. In our new COVID world, there is constant isolation. First years have to switch dorms half way through the year, sophomores are mainly living off campus, juniors are looking to find summer internships that are not going to cancel, and seniors are trying to have a semblance of a senior year. This constant state of uncertainty makes the interactions we do have even more meaningful and intentional. I’ve tried to find community in many different and creative ways lately.
