On this day 20 years ago, a rookie equities trader and former BC lacrosse player sacrificed his life to protect the lives of those around him. Welles saved as many as 18 lives while wearing a red bandana rescuing those in the south tower before its collapse, a symbol that still lives on in infamy to this day. Though he may not be with us, the red bandana still lives on in spirit. We thank you Welles, for all that you have done. Even in teaching us to be selfless and to care for those around us. You made the ultimate sacrifice.
