Senior Faith Cole has been a part of the Lafayette High School wrestling team for four years. She has won the title of State Champion three years in a row. She intends to win another, which would make her the first-ever undefeated four-time State Champion. Wrestling means more than the medals, though. To Cole, it helps her develop a strong sense of perseverance and determination. “There are things that you learn in wrestling that you don’t learn at school or on a daily basis, like the drive to continue and succeed. You don’t give up. It teaches you a lot of life lessons that you need to know,” Cole said. “I have a major honor and privilege to become the first-ever undefeated four-timer [at State], and that is really important to me because I have a lot of younger girls looking up to me, just because of the program I’m involved in and the programs I’m involved in outside of Lafayette.” In May of 2022, Cole will attempt to compete internationally, and this will be her second attempt. “In...
