Athletes Unlimited partnered with HighlightHER’s Ari Chambers for a 6-part digital series on diversity in softball. Ari interviews five AU players to discuss social issues and nuances of what it’s like to be a Black women athlete in the predominantly white sport. When asked “Who did you look up to growing up?” 5/5 athletes answered that they grew up wanting to be like Natasha Watley. This episode discusses what it means to see a person that looks like you in a successful light, how it expands a person’s thoughts of what they can aspire to be, and what this continues to mean as these athletes are now in the same shoes as their childhood idol. #HighlightHER #AthletesUnlimited
